Grounded

Grounded
This American terminology refers to the developed sense of proprioceptive reality. This has significant implications in terms of personal freedom.

To be grounded means to have a solidly embodied emotional realization of who one is in terms of personal awareness, 'feelings' and sensations.

This groundedness can be compared to 'openness' in that the grounded person knows who she/he is in terms of desire.

Reich's work has been influential in the definition of groundedness.
