Therapy Toronto Psychotherapy Definitions
- Identity Issues
- As human beings we are made up of various aspects of identity which include things like race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, sexual identity, gender, gender identity, abilities and age.
Some aspects of our identity meet with social or religious disapproval, within our social networks or society at large and because of this it can sometimes be difficult to accept ourselves. Some people are discriminated against because of some aspects of their identity and this can affect people on many levels. (GM)
