Most yoga practices, when performed with awareness, have therapeutic benefits. In Yoga Therapy, the client enters a relaxed, yet alert, meditative state and the therapist guides them through their inner exploration of their moment-to-moment experience, including sensations, emotions or beliefs. This brings greater awareness to these, leading to the client's deeper understanding and acceptance of their obstacles, and to overcoming them. The inner journey is paced and directed by the client, ensuring that time is spent on the most relevant concerns.
