Catalysis

Catalysis
A process in which the presence of a specific situation, thing or person acts as an 'exciting element', initiating transformative change while not itself changing.

An early view of psychodynamic therapy was that the therapist acted as a catalyzer but was not changed by interaction with the client.

Contrast Co-creation.
