Existence
Existence is derived from the Greek and is a word whose root meaning mostly escapes us.

Literally it refers to the fact of standing-out for ourselves, 'ek-sisiting'.

To take a stand in life in this fashion is to stand for something, to be the something that we are.

To be and live existentially requires that we drive our own stake into the ground and declare our position as beings.

The challenge of accepting our individual existence is the peril of freedom which has to stand up to the challenge of The "They".
