Psychosocial Oncology
A cancer diagnosis can precipitate many emotions and changes, not just in the patient himself/herself, but also often in relationships with family and friends of the patient.

Psychosocial oncology is a form of counselling for persons with cancer who have specific unmet needs.

These needs include coping with their illness, emotional distress, changes in relationships with family members and friends, as well as future plans.
