Ferenczi, Sandor Ferenczi
- Ferenczi, Sandor Ferenczi
- One of Freud's earliest collaborators and friends, a brilliant practitioner and proponent of mutual analysis.
Among other great contributions to the art of psychoanalysis, Ferenczi developed the lectures that Freud gave in America in 1910 at Clark University.
This introduced psychoanalysis to America.
He was the first analyst to put forward a plausible explanation of the psychic effects of childhood sexual abuse, regarded in his day as mere fantasy.
In recent years his views and gentle approach have found increasingly wide acceptance.
